Pottery Barn Calligraphy Lamp Shade Hack

I loved the french script lamp shade that Gina over at  The Shabby Cottage Chic
made a few weeks ago and have been wanting to try my hand at making one.
I finally found a few free moments this week to work on it.
I used a lamp shade that I had picked up at Goodwill for 2 bucks. The paint is Jacquard textile in 122 black, for natural and synthetic fabrics. The brush that is used when painting a script makes all the difference in the world. The finer the point, the better . I used a number 4350 liner,by American Painter.
I did exactly as Gina taught us,printed out the script that I wanted, then taped it to the inside of the shade, with the lamp turned on and then painted away!
For the postal marks,I used my  Cavallini stamping set and then just painted over the top of the stamped image. It really was not as hared as I had anticipated it being and I estimate my cost at around 5 bucks max!

So, tell me what do you think?
Did I do Okay?

And oh, by the way, the table edge that you see in the background of the picture, that is the antique trestle table that my sweetie picked up for me a few days ago at Habitat for Humanity. More on that later!

I am so proud of you. You pulled it off. I tried it using the Ballard Design document fabric and used the wrong spray glue so it would not be safe for me to use my lamp shade. If you want a LOL go to my blog and go down to the older posts and open them up. I signed up as one of your followers and if you like I would love to have you as a follower. I have let some time elapse between my last 2 posts since I am battling cancer.
xoxo to you and yours,

I think it looks great! You did a really good job:) I've been contemplating a lamp re-do on one of my shades but I'm scared and keep changing my mind about what I want to do to it!!!

It looks great! You did a nice job. I have a lamp shade I've been wanting to try this on, but I am so nervous! Maybe I'll give it a try now that you explained how you did it!

Thank you to each and everyone of you that liked and commented on my lamp shade hack.I am also very honored to have several of you as brand new followers..how exciting!

The script really is not all that hard to do and I would encourage all of you that have thinking about trying it, to go for it!Be sure to jump over to Gina's tutorial(The Shabby Cottage Chic) on how she made her lamp shade.I forgot to mention in my post that the shade is on the lamp with the light turned on when painting, this makes it easier to see. If you have an older shade to practice on that may help. One rule only...you gotta share with us!
